JIPL has recently been engaged to redevelop a process for an iconic New Zealand brand. This process includes the full design, project management, supervision and commissioning of a processing oven with a preheat zone & a soak zone, a cooling cabinet, operating with power and free conveyor.
The client is facing several process challenges and has turned to JIPL to help resolve these challenges. This includes satisfying increased product demand, quality consistency, and process constraints. As a result, the client has decided that they need to update their equipment and processes to meet these challenges.
Additionally, JIPL is designing and installing a raising and lowering mechanism for loading the products on and off the conveyor – and for changing them from a horizontal position to a vertical position. A specific challenge for JIPL has been to create a system for getting the products on and off the conveyor efficiently and safely. This is a challenge that JIPL has happily accepted.
JIPL has been working collaboratively with the client to meet not only tight process restraints but also to satisfy the necessary budget restraints. The process has been streamlined and simplified to satisfy these constraints.
At JIPL, we design our ovens to provide for long, low-maintenance life, with high reliability and minimal energy operation. Our oven is a modular design using precision sheet metal components that bolt and rivet together. This system provides our client with the opportunity to reduce costs by assembling the plant in-house – and the additional advantage of operators taking ‘ownership’ of the plant. The heater box contains the circulation fan and direct gas-fired burner and the construction ensures minimum heat transfer through the oven fabric.
Airflow (volume and velocity) are critical for effective and efficient curing of their products. The oven airflow will raise the product temperature within 6 minutes and will hold at temperature (180oC) for 25 minutes. An integral cooling system is included to reduce product temperatures to below 60c within 6 minutes.
